BIO: The 32 year old hails from Palmerston North and
represents the Central Stags in the domestic competition. Known for his
big hitting, solid medium bowling and agile fielding, he was selected
for the top team in 2001. Jake made his ODI debut against Zimbabawe in
Wellington in early 2001, his Test debut against India in Wellington in
2002 and his Twenty20 debut against South Africa and Johannesburg in
2005.
FAVOURITE FOOD: Sushi.
SPARE TIME: I enjoy playing golf and tennis, watching
movies and watching baseball. However, now I have a young family that is
where most of my free time goes.
FAVOURITE MOVIE: The Godfather 1.
WHAT DO I ENJOY ABOUT BEING A SPORTSMAN: Seeing the
world and getting paid to play a game you love. You also learn a lot
about yourself when placed in high pressure situations.
WHAT MOTIVATES ME: Failure.
IF I WASN'T A CRICKETER I WOULD BE: A chef or dog breeder.
HOW OLD WAS I STARTING OUT IN CRICKET: 5 or 6, playing in the backyard with my older brother.
