KOOKABURRA WICKET KEEPING
Kookaburra offer one of the best ranges of wicket keeping gloves and wicket keeping equipment in the world. The brand has been the choice of the majority of Australian wicket keepers over the last couple of decades, wicket keepers who have been crowned rather than selected behind the stumps.
Endorsement by the giants of wicket keeping worldwide including Rodney Marsh, Ian Healy, Adam Gilchrist, Jack Russell, Alec Stewart and Ray Jennings, is testament to the enduring heritage that the brand possesses in technical design of wicket keeping equipment.
The keeping baton has now been passed to Jos Buttler (England), BJ Watling (NZ), Dinesh Chandimal (Sri Lanka), AB de Villiers (South Africa) and Sam Whiteman (Australia), meaning that no other wicket keeping brand takes more ‘victims’ on the international stage than Kookaburra.
Using only the finest materials, every pair of wicket keeping gloves are not only handmade but are also the best they can be. It’s these materials that give Kookaburra wicket keeping gloves that unique feel and support that you need to take the ball cleanly every time.
Designed in conjunction with international players, Kookaburra’s new wicket keeping gloves range incorporates the latest technology and keeping features, including:
Brand new for 2016, K-Flex provides key support through the backhand, reducing the risk of injury while boosting comfort. The Kookaburra Catching Cup (KCC) uses unique padding and flex points within the palm of the glove to provide a perfect enclosure around the ball, making it easier to snare victims. The Octopus rubber grip is a remarkably flexible, durable and grippy rubber, the only choice for both performance and functional longevity available on the top of the range gloves. Tri-colour ‘Sugagrip’ rubber and standand dimble rubber is another alternatives in the range.
Specially developed Kookaburra ‘Kangaroo’ Leather is one of the softest and lightest non-stretch leathers available. Used on the palm of the glove offering perfect comfort for prime flex points. Premium aniline sheep leather is an incredibly soft and supple leather providing additional comfort, whilst being tough enough to provide support at the back of the keeping glove.
Kookaburra use specially designed finger tabs or Fibre Wear constructed of tough scuff material and reinforced mouldings to provide immense durability from finger tip wear and tear when crouching down behind the stumps.
Across the range Kookaburra offer an ‘Aussie Shorti’ style low profile cuff, as preferred by a number of International players, allowing maximum movement and agility when it counts most or the traditional 'Long Cut' style with the squared shaped cuff which is the preferred choice of England's Jos Buttler.
