At 11.20am on Thursday 23rd July 2009 at New Road, Worcester. Justin Langer pushed his name firmly to the top of the page of Australian Run Scorers in First Class Cricket when he surpassed the record of 28,067 Career runs set by Sir Donald Bradman more than 60 years ago. Justin Langer has been a model professional for the entirety of his career which began in Western Australia back in 1991/92, forming (with Matthew Hayden) one of the most destructive Opening Partnerships in the history of the game. It can be argued that his positive attitude to batting at the ‘top of the list’ revolutionised Test Cricket, turning it from largely a war of attrition to the spectacle that it is today. Throughout his career Justin has been a leader both physically (through his role in the team) and also through his attitude to playing the game that he loves. He has been an outstanding role model to Players wherever & whenever he has strapped on his pads & used his trusty Kookaburra. Kookaburra is immensely proud to pay tribute to a true legend of the modern game. 24.7.09
