PROFILE

The Western Australian-born and raised opening batsman moved to Victoria in 2016,  the move paying off with Australian selection and a baggy green cap.

As a child Harris’ grandmother would give him pocket money relative to how many runs he made, and he ensured that his pockets were full through his junior career.

When he was just 18 years old, Harris made 157 in his third ever first class match for WA, making him the youngest-ever Australian to score 150 at that level. Four seasons later he made another 150 in a Sheffield Shield final, but in 2016 fearing his career had stalled in Western Australia he made that move to Victoria.

After strong form in the Sheffield Shield he was picked to make his Test debut for Australia in 2018, dedicating the achievement to his beloved late grandmother. Playing against India he made a solid start to his Test career with a top score of 79  and finished off the summer with another big hundred for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield Final.

Harris to loves to cut and pull, and pounces on any width to smack a cover drive.

He’ll be looking to don the baggy green in 2019-20, alongside his Victorian and Renegades caps,  while he uses the Shadow - a bat he personally was involved in designing. In fact, he came up with the name ‘Shadow”!
