Rilee Rossouw is a highly-rated left-hand top-order batsman who began his first-class career at No. 3 for Free State. He played for South African Schools in 2006 and made his first-class debut a year later, scoring 83 against Easterns. Rossouw, who was selected in South Africa's Under-19 squad for the 2008 World Cup, where he turned in some decent, but not outstanding, performances. It was in the 2008-09 domestic season that Rossouw showcased his potential, finishing as the Eagles' highest run-getter. He began the next season with a hundred against Cape Cobras during which he became one of the youngest South Africans to make 1000 first-class runs.
